Parks = Relief

Went to sleep last night and we were at Home Depot, J was about to start watching the Pacquiao/Bradley fight. Woke up this morning a little loopy in a Wal-mart parking lot...and I didn't even drink last night! I was soooo out of it, must have been all the Midol, whoa..haha

Another day of taking it easy. It's a little bit overcast, so far, today so that's a nice plus. Last night, I did a little research of the area we're in and found some really great parks. This morning we drove to the first one on the list, Greenfield Park. This park is monstrous and beautiful. There is a trail that goes all the way around, one of the biggest lakes I've seen in a while, it's a 4 mile trail (round trip).

We saw a couple of alligators (they are not shy), tons of turtles (I actually was able to say, "Is that a turtle head pokin' out"...and mean it! haha), all kinds of birds and of course squirrels, even some stray cats.

Savannah is in heaven with the smells! There is a skate park here, alongside tennis courts, play grounds, picnic benches and canoe & paddle boat rentals. We found a nice spot under a big tree and even with all of the activity, it's pretty quiet...there's even a guy building an "adult tree house" right behind us~ yep, we are back in civilization. We were even able to "spread out" a bit to repack and reorganize Joon. It's nice to be able to have places like this where no one bothers you, we can open the doors, walk Savannah and have her be outside (on a leash of course) and just do our stuff.

Passing through: Everglades

We decided since it was so cold on the West Coast that we would make our way to the Keys a little earlier than planned. On our way we caught Alligator Alley (U.S. Route 41, Everglades Parkway), it's a main road that cuts right through the state of Florida and as the name says, it's pretty much flooded with Alligators.

We saw a turn-off where we could park, take a potty break and also take some pics of these beautiful dinosaurs.

We also stopped in Everglades City just to take a small detour. It's a cute little town with beautiful buildings and scenery.

Are there really enough Panthers to cause traffic? Goodness![/caption]
