Getting back in the saddle again...sitting a little sideways!

Oh my goodness! We have been so freakin' sick, I haven't had any time to get my thoughts straight on a daily basis, so posting had to be put on a back burner. Sorry if I worried anyone. One of the things we have learned about being on the road is that we are never around people that often, either big groups or small groups or kids or whatever, so our immune systems are full of nothing but fresh air and Mother Nature! haha Not that great when you actually come into contact with all of the above. I think the big thing that did me in was that Girl Scouts meeting I went to with my lil' noodlebugs...we were in an Elementary school cafeteria (kid germs everywhere) with 15 young girls (more germs) sitting very close to one another...and me for an hour and a half! Yep, I think that sums up where I got all of the "outside" germs from. We are finally feeling fresh enough to go visit some other people before leaving the area. It has been good to just be able to be sick but at the same time we are both NEVER (head/chest cold) sick so it has been an interesting 2 weeks. If we could both just get over this cough we would be 100%...stupid cough!

So, I have some posts to write about some things that we did in Tucson while we were there that I haven't written about yet...or just plain forgot until now...now that my head is clear! Crazy what a "simple" cold from hell can do to you.

Here's to everyone and their health...Have you taken your Vitamins today?

My body had a change in plans

Last night we talked about leaving today and we had every intention on making that happen...get up, pack her up, say last good-byes and roll on out. However, my body had different plans for me today...gotta love the human body! I woke up feeling alright, not great, not dandy, but alright. My left side of my face was killing me where my jaw meets my ear, I couldn't open my mouth, it hurt to swallow, even thinking about it hurt...pretty painful. I had a bangin' headache side by side with mild nausea.

[caption id="attachment_3675" align="aligncenter" width="150"]Ugh... Ugh...[/caption]

I figured I would just ride it out, it was close to my time, I can deal. Once I started moving around, the nausea would come and go but the left side of my face hurt hella bad. J' just told me to take it easy and whatever came out of today would come, we aren't in a hurry to be or go anywhere. (Such a good man!) I thought maybe if I got up, got some fresh air and walked around things might straighten out in my bod and we'd be good to go. And it worked...for about an hour.

In that hour though, not even caring that I was in my p.j.'s, I was able to get some pics of some of my girls (that I really wanted) so that made me happy. (Cyndi you said you didn't mind!)

I met up with J' over at Brian's camper to say, See ya later...they were in the middle of fixing Brian's bike and after about 20 minutes I had to leave and go back to Joon Van. I felt dizzy, nauseous and faint...gross!

Even though I didn't get out much today, I was still able to see another amazing sunset (thanks to our glorious windows) and Ted (a new friend) gave me a whole stash of Oreo's for when I'm feeling better...and can actually eat the darn things, stupid jaw/ear thing!

I'm crossing my fingers that tomorrow I will be clear of this mess and we can get on with it, for I see a hot shower and laundry in our very near future...

Here's to the freshy fresh!

Taking shots of 'Freshness' today

Well, I'd like to say we are out of the "throes" of sickness but, ya know...I just don't know if we are yet. Last night was probably the worst of it yet. J' definitely caught some kind of stomach bug, he rarely ever gets sick and whatever he has is something of a whole different species! We are hoping the worst of it is over, but we shall wait and see.

The R.T.R. is officially starting today, Bob said he would hold a meeting this morning at 10. We were planning on attending until the Monster of Misery decided to have a slumber party in our fort! We left our spot at about 8:00 a.m. this morning to go get some medicine, take showers and do laundry. It was time to clean everything around us and put some freshness back into the van! We drove over to Ehrenberg and took showers at the Flying J. I have to say, we love those showers! They are always so nice, clean and maintained and you can relax and take as long as you want. They have so many showers that there is never a rush...even when it's super busy. We really like it!

[caption id="attachment_3209" align="aligncenter" width="225"] Clean cutie[/caption]

We looked at the washers and dryers at the Flying J but 1- there wasn't enough room in the small space they had to do what we needed to and 2- it was a little more costly $2.25 per wash and $2.25 per dry.

We decided to just drive the extra 1/2 mile down the road to the mini mall in 'Downtown Ehrenberg'. The machines there are $1.25 per wash and $.25 for 8 minutes of drying...it's like we are back in Fresno prices, works for me! We were pretty much the only people there, so it was nice and quiet. It only took about an hour and a half to wash, dry and fold everything...then another half hour or so to make the bed.

[caption id="attachment_3213" align="alignright" width="150"] Quartzsite[/caption]

Then we were back on the road to Quartzsite! The nice thing about being in Ehrenberg, other than cleaning off the icky illness was, it was about 10-15 degrees warmer there. When we were making the bed, it was 81* and we were both in tank tops and I had my flops on.....salivating over warmer weather! ☼

We got back and noticed a couple of new campers had arrived. We talked to a few people about "the meeting" this morning...turns out the actual 'meet & greet' will be tomorrow morning, that way new people will have time to set up camp and all of that.

So for the rest of the day it's going to be maxin' and relaxin' for this crew. We both want to be at our best for the start of things tomorrow...looks like DVD land tonight!

Until tomorrow my friends

In Two Different Places

Sitting in the sun right now, it's a bit chilly outside, more so than I would like but it's nice in the sun. I got up to walk Savannah and sat with Joey for a little bit. We chattied, basked in the sun and watched the dogs play. Mike rolled up, grabbed a chair and shared in the sun gathering. Everyone is kind of at their own pace today due to a late night fire pit. Savannah and I had our own 'girls night' and watched movies...Joe Dirt (yes again), The Simpson's Movie and Groundhogs Day. We snuggled up, had hot cocoa and movied ourselves out...it was nice. This morning I had cafe' with Jenn & Johnny, it's nice to hang out with them again. They're good peeps. Man...the sun is awesome! I'm sitting here in my purple jacket, bag lady gloves, knit cap, jeans, boots, argyles...in my chair, next to the van in the perfectly clear sunshine sky.

[caption id="attachment_3184" align="aligncenter" width="300"] ♫ Sunshine, Cactus Pops and Mountains ♫[/caption]

I look out, there are rocks on the ground...big and small, bush, trees, cactus, and mountains. Now, if I were to turn around I would see the same but with other campers/dwellers parked within the scenery. We are in Quartzsite and there's a lot more of that to come. I think as long as you're prepared for lights, other people, noise, vehicle noise, dogs barking, etc...then it's okay.

I think I might paint my nails today, J' bought me a new color!

~that was written on paper at the beginning of today, after I wrote this I went back inside with J'...

I got back in the van and fiddled around with Savannah, we all watched City of Angels and then I went back outside and painted my nails. My new color is a matte gray that I'm naming Wet Cement. I think I might try some matte colors instead of so much sparkle...you know I love sparkle but I need a change. It wasn't very eventful on my end of the day...can't say the same for the hubs on that one...poor babaa'. Hopefully he will wake up tomorrow feeling just fine and dandy, like this was all just a bad dream. We will hope, pray, cross our fingers, wish, think positive...we need good thoughts for him right now.

I'm off to change the DVD.

Can you kill germs with kindness?

Today marks my 101st post! Congratulations to me! haha and thank you to everyone that sits and reads through everything and nothing that I have to say, you are very much appreciated! The last couple of days have just been getting back to the grindstone. J' is working hard and is feeling good about everything he is doing, that's always good & encouraging. I do wish he would take an "re-energizer break" sometimes, but he just wants to go go go and not break his motivation or concentration...understandable. I woke up the other morning not feeling so hot, so I took it easy. The next day (yesterday) I felt even worse, so I didn't really get anything done...other than a lot of coughing, wheezing and spitting (sorry it's gross but it happens). I don't know where it came from, but I am going to blame it on being in Fresno for three days... germies, germies, germies ...ick! I did however tune my sweet Claramae and boy am I glad that I finally went out and bought a cheap lil tuner. I thought for the past year that my guitar was broken, it just turns out my ears are! Playing a guitar or practicing & learning on a tuned guitar has totally changed all motivation and excitement for learning. I am totally stoked now and am more than ready to get 'er done. I can sit and play a little longer too now, it's not as hard on my fingers for some reason...this whole tuning thing has changed my life. I'm so freakin' stoked!! So far this morning, I feel a bit better than yesterday I think this cough is finally starting to break up, even more gross than yesterday but I'd rather have it do this and go away than stay for months and months. I also "tortured" Savannah by cutting her nails, filing them, then brushing her teeth. I swear if anyone could hear her screaming from our camp they would probably think we are trying to clip her whole foot off. The problems with cutting her nails myself are 1- She hates anybody touching her feet. 2- She gets scared when the clippers push down on her nail, I think it's the pressure and I'm not even close to her quick. 3- With her being scared of the clippers before I even push down, she screams and then she bites me. It's a huge ordeal to cut her nails, then I have to file them down with an acrylic file because we don't have  a dremmel. Usually I can do it myself, but this morning after 4 bites/really hard nips (haha, sorry dirty mind) I had to have J' come wrap her in a towel and hold her, she's so much better when daddy gets involved....daddy's little girl! I do have to thank Miss Cherry though, she taught me an easier way to clip the nail, so that part only takes me about 5 minutes now instead of 20...so Thank you Miss Cherry! Super exciting morning going on over here! We are still learning about this new iceless cooler we bought. Every day we talk about a different (refrigeration) situation so we will have to see how it does over the next few days with the solar and the clouds and everything else. Until then or until something else fantastic comes up, I will catch ya on the flip side yo!

Time to find Savannah:
