New Smells, New Faces...Still Joon Van is our Oasis

This morning we decided to get a bit of exercise, it was a nice day to stretch the legs a bit. We took Savannah on her usual morning walk and then put her in the crate to go for an extended walk, through the casinos and on the Riverwalk. We walked down the Riverwalk where we had been that one morning, when I was waiting for that phone call. (That day) We had turned around a little before The River Palms Hotel and Casino, so this morning we walked all the way down.

The Riverwalk sits up above the water and there is a huge area of land that is closed off, it looks like it used to be a public beach area. We hope they can clean it up some day and have it be open again, it's a great day use area!

We didn't know if The River Palms was the last casino that you could get to by the Riverwalk so we walked all the way past the casino doors but low and behold...construction! haha

We walked back to the doors and went inside. We walked around the little arcade they have (I gave a little dance to the cameras), went upstairs to what looked like a huge ballroom (with about 200 cameras...okay Big Brother, geez!), then kept on to the casino. The River Palms seemed like it was one of the older casinos but it was nice inside, we stopped into the Bingo Hall to see if there were any games starting...why? We don't know either, never played a (real) game in our lives...we got a sheet of paper with the games and times on it and left. As we were walking out the front doors of the hotel, we saw three Enduro's (street legal dirt bikes): 2 KTM's and 1 Yamaha.

J' and I are always talking about getting dirt bikes, these exact dirt bikes. I can't even tell you how many times we've gone to shops to look at KTM's! As we were looking at the bikes, two of the riders and J' started talking. Ed & Danny, what super nice guys! You could tell they were totally stoked about their trip, Ed even whipped his map out showing us the trek they were about to endure, with volcanoes and caverns included....um, Jealous!!

We talked to them for a while, then they were nice enough to pose for a pic with me...yep, I totally had to twist their arms! haha NOT!

I even nudged Danny into starting his own blog about their adventures... you can find him at http://comstockriders.tumblr.com/ You just never know where you're going to meet new friends! We wish them a fun ride and a fantastic adventure! Oh, we met DJ (the third rider) just as we were leaving, I think he was hiding from the pictures! haha

We walked back to the van and worked the rest of the day. I am trying to put a gallery on the blog so that took me all day long and I really haven't gotten anywhere on it. I did finally figure out how to do it, so that's a step in the right direction...it's going to take a while though so be patient please!

The three of us took a walk right when the sun was going down, we wanted to see if there was a way to get down to the Riverwalk without having to go through the casinos, so Nana could come walk 'on the water' with us. We walked the opposite direction of where we walked this morning, walking down alleys, in parking lots and in some shady areas with lots of stray cats (all white, that was weird). After hopping a wall, we saw this little tiny building wedged between these huge hotels. Our curiosity pushed us down to the doors of the building, we saw they had a restaurant and thought maybe they would have some cheaper prices than the bigger casinos so I went inside to investigate.

The first thing I have to report is: if you are ever building a place... be it a store, casino, hotel, restaurant, whatever...Do not, I repeat DO NOT put a restroom, especially the Men's Restroom right by the front door and on top of that Do Not keep that restroom door open!!! I mean, my goodness! I walked in and didn't notice anything but the smell of doody! I'm sorry but it's true. I thought a pipe had burst or something. I walked further into the small casino, after all I was on an investigation! They have a small bar, a few machines, a gift shop and a restaurant in the back. I stood there waiting to get prices but no one ever came to help me so I left... back through the, oh so awful stank of the Men's room...PeeeeeYeeewwww! I don't know if I'd want to eat in there with that. I wanted J' to go in and take it all in, but he passed, haha! I even asked him if I had it on me...seriously it was that strong! We did find an opening to get down to the water from the back of this casino...so we were successful at that, at least. We walked back to the van and as we walked through the lot we saw the cutest, (almost more perfect than the Storm) Class C RV. I think we might be able to pull that one off. I kind of felt like a creeper taking pics of this RV in the dark so I only took one but isn't it cute!?

[caption id="attachment_2630" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Perfect![/caption]

I think we could be pretty happy in that. We could stand up in it, have room on the inside to move around and to store some stuff (so it's not on the outside) and it can fit into a regular parking spot. The top is high, but the top of Joon is high too...soooo...we liked it a lot!

Now, it's off to build our fort and get some "Telly" in for the night. Tonight, we have a line-up of Bones and The Mob Doctor...Fox seems to be the one clear channel we always have, so we stick with what we get!

I hope your Monday was more like a Fun-day!

PEACE
