First day/night. Check.

Left Liza's exactly at 9:00 a.m., felt like we were taking back roads all the way to Myrtle Beach (our first planned destination), but finally the GPS put us on I-20. We stopped at a "Myrtle Beach" Visitor Center, 55 miles away from the actual beach, but we walked away with four different coupon books and a huge map.

We pointed ourselves in the right direction (same direction we were going) and about an hour/hour & a half later with traffic we arrived on Main St., right at the heart of Myrtle Beach. Even though we were both "hungry sick", tired & a bit irritated due to being hungry and tired, we 'celebrated' with a little Lloyd Price with Stagger Lee, my ultimate SHAG song. We drove The Grand Strand and looked at all of the shops, hotels and people. Once we got to a certain spot on the strip we pulled off and stopped at the first food we saw which happened to be Hardee's (J's fave).

**SIDENOTE:We are trying not to spend money on food on an on-going basis, like fast-food or any other kind of eating out. We are more trying to eat the food we brought with us first, then we'll grocery shop and find better/easier ways of eating from there. It's just so much easier to open a granola bar, protein bar or make a quick (premade) sandwich than to get out several things, boil water & have several things to clean afterward, just to eat a snack or meal. These easier meals will also help us keep food costs down. We are giving ourselves a $10.00 a day (eating out) food allowance, so we can have a little fun on the run!**

Even though we are soo tired, we thought it would be nice to do a quick walk on the beach, after all it was after 5p.m. so Savannah could come with us. Myrtle Beach allows you to have dogs on the beach before 10 a.m. & after 5 p.m. I love having her on the beach with us, it just feels so much more right! After our beach walk and with us being so tired (but now with full bellies), we decided to find a Wal-mart so we could nap for a bit. There are quite a few Wal-marts around and none, that we saw, have No Parking Overnight signs~ so we found a good spot, parked and pulled out the bed.

It was a little warm, not too bad, but we plugged our fan into the GZ battery and hit the hay. We slept for a solid hour and a half. When we woke up, we got our TV out (a cool 9 inch Phillips with antennae aka Lil Phil), found some channels and just vegged for a couple of hours. We fell back asleep around 10:30 p.m. or so. It was a pretty peaceful night. No one bothered us and the bed held air all night.

Night one = Success.

PEACE
