When we woke up this morning, it didn't really seem like we really had that much to do: Laundry, wash Joon, get a Pahrump sticker, grab something to take over to Wayne's, then go to Wayne's for dinner. Sounds like a couple of hours at the most, right!? Well, not for this tribe. We can make a couple of hours stretch out into a full day....luckily we had dinner at Wayne's to keep us on track today or it may have spilled over into tomorrow! We were up and at 'em by 8 a.m. on this beautiful sunny day. Our first stop was that oh-so-clean laundromat...and even though we were early on a Monday morning, it was getting pretty packed in that mug. I actually was racing to get clothes on-top of machines so we wouldn't be waiting for them...a first!

While I did my laundromat duty, J' went next door to the car wash to do his with Joon Van. He not only washed the outside of her, but the inside as well as all of the mats...she's so fresh and so clean now!
Even though the machines were a bit more expensive than the ones in Fresno, the cost came out exactly the same: $16.00 for 5 loads of laundry! We seem to be wearing less of our clothes because we don't get as dirty out here as we did in Shaver Lake, it works for us and our budget.

I packed everything up nice and tiddy because I was going to walk over to the car wash, but as I was walking out J' had just parked out front...perfect timing! We pulled over to an empty lot just outside of the laundromat and made the bed. I'm sure to people driving by it looked kind of funny, but we gotta do what we gotta do yo! Now off to find a Pahrump sticker...that shouldn't take long....hahaha Joke of the day! We went to 3 or 4 different Casino's. No.

We went to Walgreens & CVS. No.
We went to a Party Supply store...she did have them, but they were out...so No.
We went to Spring Mountain Fast Track a few miles out of town. What a bunch of shenanigans that was just trying to get into one of the buildings there, (one of the women we tracked down in a golf cart said that's why she calls the place the compound...you can't get in and you can't get out!) Oh and they didn't have anything either!

We were told the Chamber of Commerce had stickers galore...those people were wrong, BUT one of the gals there gave us an old bumper sticker having to do with a Pahrump radio station and told me not to tell anyone, so...shh! That lady was great though and called around to a few places for us...nobody had any Pahrump stickers! At this point in the day, we were now almost rushing to get to Wayne's...funny how that happens and over a sticker! We still had a couple more things to do, so we hurried, got them done and rolled over to Wayne's for some yummy din-din!

We got to Wayne's around 2:30 p.m. or so. Bob was also extended an invitation so we hung out and chatted it up a bit until he and Homer arrived. It was so nice to see old friends meet again and get caught up with one another, Wayne & Bob have a friendship that goes way back.

Wayne had put together quite the feast for all of us: A pot roast with the most tender meat, potatoes, carrots and a new special ingredient...sour cream. We brought some garlic bread...what doesn't go with garlic bread, right! haha Everything was super delicious, Wayne did a great job!
[caption id="attachment_1952" align="aligncenter" width="225"] Yum, yum gimme some![/caption]
It was nice to be with friends, chillin', taking in all of the conversation and digesting some good eats. We were so well behaved at dinner that Wayne brought out the pimp daddy of all desserts...a pumpkin torte! We all had never had something of this nature before, but we were all willing to give it a sample tasting just to make sure it was okay.

This cake...pie...torte, tops any dessert I think I've ever tasted. I love me some pumpkin pie and thank goodness the store was out of them or we would have never gotten to taste the majesty of this homemade pumpkin torte....awwww, sooo freakin' delish! I was even lucky enough to get the cherry. Score!

After dinner & dessert, we went on the evening walk with Bob. It was nice to join him again in this daily tradition and in a new place. Savannah really loves it because she doesn't have to be on a leash, she can hunt at will and she gets to roam with her buddy, Homer. It's good for all of us!
J' even found the cutest bag just chillin' in the desert. It had been there for a minute because it was definitely sun faded but it was super cute and wasn't trashed, so we now have a dirty clothes hamper that we call the "Nadia" bag (it's actually a flower child Dora the Explorer, but J' thought her name was Nadia, soo...hence the Nadia bag)
[caption id="attachment_1959" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Nadia!![/caption]
A long day but so lively! We accomplished a lot having to do with chores and errands, got together with some great friends, put something new in our bellies...I even went back after our walk for seconds AND thirds (I was trying to be polite, but this girls' belly never stops AND I was egged on by the mens! haha)
A fantastic day has come to an end. We will stay at Wayne's spot tonight and will be up and at 'em again bright and early in the morning for our scenic mountain drive with Wayne. I'm really hoping to see some wild ponies or burros or any animal really!
Spending our last few days here the way we have has been really cool and fun. I'm really glad that Wayne and Bob were able to reconnect and that we have been able to spend some quality time with Wayne.

Wishing we get to see some wild animals tomorrow...fingers and tootsies crossed!
PEACE
