A New Month. A New Spot. Still No Pie!

Happy December Amigos!

It's National Pie Day...speaking of pie, we still need to get in on some Pumpkin Pie action...making a mental note of it right now!

So, we all got through November, huh!? Yep, one more month of craziness before everyone starts to settle back into 'normalcy'...whatever that means. Being out on the road has its 'times' where we're glad we don't have to be in the hustle and bustle of trying to get everyone gifts and going to this house and that house and all of the stuff "the season" isn't even about. Then there are times where I (at least) miss decorating the house, baking pies and cookies with the kids, seeing all of the family and friends and being in the Holiday Spirit...they may be seldom but they do linger. We always make the most out of everything though...we have each other year round, so there's our "present" and with one another brings laughter, love and joy...so shoot, it's freakin' Christmas all year long for us! 'Tis the Season, haha Anyway, it's only the First of December so I'm sure the feelings will come and go and when we are able to see our family and friends that in itself will be its own celebration.

So...what did we do today? I'm sure you're dying to know! haha We left our spot, up on the hill overlooking the water, to go into town for a few items and see what else was around...do a little scouting!

The Wal-mart in this town is on the total opposite end of where we have been camping so it was about a 17-18 mile drive...whoa! The town of Lake Havasu is a cute little place though, there's lots to see as you drive...or passenge! Especially the guys going to the car shows all over town...

Over by the Wal-mart there is, what looks like, a mall but the stores aren't really connected...all the stores are separate. There is a JC Penny, Dillards, Micheal's, Petsmart, Kirkland's, a movie theatre, some other stores and some restaurants. We went into Micheal's to try to find a zipper for J's jacket...it stopped fully zipping about two months ago and Wal-mart never has the right zippers. Just so you know, Micheal's doesn't sell zippers! We went back to the van and got the Bug, so we could walk her around Petsmart...she needs to feel part of the group too! She LOVES the bone aisle!

We walked around the perimeter of all of the stores. It's a nice shopping complex but, I'd say about 80% of the stores were empty...either this place was pretty new or people have already shut their doors (hopefully it's the first)!

We finally got to Wal-mart and did a bunch of shopping and looking and comparing...the usual.

After Wally World we drove through the main part of town (historic downtown) to see what was around. Main Street aka McCulloch Blvd. has a lot going on, lots of cute little stores, restaurants and bars...if we lived here I'm sure we would frequent Main Street a lot! We even got a little peek at The London Bridge, but would come back for a tourist day of that later.

Since we were up "so far" North, we thought it would be best if we checked out the camping that our PLP (Public Land Pimp) told us about. We only had to drive a couple of miles until we saw a few turn-offs, we ended up taking one of them which turned into us finding some pretty good BLM land with a camp host, Charlie.

[caption id="attachment_2799" align="aligncenter" width="300"] BLM campers[/caption]

There were quite a few rigs camping pretty close to Charlie, but we kept driving...figured the big rigs couldn't get to where we wanted to go. That's one of the good things about having good ole Joon Van, she can go a lot of places a lot of rigs can't. We drove up about a mile or so and turned off the road to drive over a small hill into a little valley...it was like we had the whole place to ourselves back here. This would be our new spot for as long as we could stand to be in one place or our 14 day limit was up...whichever one comes first! We got here right at sunset, which was right on time...another amazing sunset. So I will have to get some good pics of our surroundings tomorrow...excited face!

While I'm sitting here writing this, I look over to my right...out of the driver side window and see a light. This light is kind of strange, I've never seen a light off in the distance (the barren distance) like this before. I actually thought a spaceship had landed on the other side of the mountain...no joke! I even had J' look out the window, that's when we both started seeing a first for the both of us....A Moonrise!!! We watched the Moon start as a light, peek over the mountains and rise up into the sky. It was freakin' spectacular man. A true sight to see. I tried getting some good pics and video but we all know my camera is not professional grade, so this is what I got. Enjoy my friends!

[caption id="attachment_2802" align="aligncenter" width="300"] ... a little more[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2803" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Show yourself![/caption]

I hope you all get to see a Moonrise one day (if you never have before). I think it is probably one of the cooler things I've ever seen...but I love the Nature and the Moon and all of that (but J' thought it was pretty rad, soooo....)
