Walking to the Beat of our own Drum

I would have written yesterday but really the only thing worth writing about is, Joey bought us a Pumpkin Pie! Thank you Joe-Joe, it is delicious!!

Today, on the other hand, was quite the errand-filled day! We started out as we do most mornings, at the 10 a.m. circle. Miss Lesa was making eggs for the group, she's so good! Oh and we brought our toast, haha... And yes, it was a success. We all gathered around the fire pit to take in what this mornings topic would be...Mechanical work by Mike.

The mornings discussion lasted about an hour, maybe more, then everyone went in different directions only to gather again by one of the gals vans to change her serpentine belt. Class in Session. The awesome thing about the R.T.R. is everyone has some kind of skill and most people really like to share their skill with others that have no clue where to start....or where to 'end'. A lot of work to a lot of vans has been done in the past few days and I'm sure more will tend to take place until this desert is empty.

We drove into town, which is picking up the pace second by second. It's madness down there! Nothing is going to hold back some people though...

[caption id="attachment_3389" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Go Granny Go![/caption]

If we weren't on a mission for vittles and showers, we may have stopped in town but we were on a mission! We stopped in at a place that we were told there were showers but we couldn't find them (and we had to go into Blythe anyway) so we drove to Ehrenberg and stopped at our lovely Flying J...have I mentioned lately how much we love the Flying J!? Well, we do!!

[caption id="attachment_3392" align="aligncenter" width="150"] Sooo clean![/caption]

I think I might have stayed in a bit too long...does such a thing exist? I saw that my fingers were red, pruned and starting to peel while I was putting my socks on...but it feels soooo good! J' was sweet enough to let me have the bathroom to myself when he was done. He took his backpack and told me he'd meet me at the van. When I came out, he was walking Savannah....awwww, such a good man! We ran some errands to Albertson's, Ace Hardware and the amazing Taco Bell (it's been a while)! Taco Bell has these new loaded grillers, that are actually really filling and totally scrumptious and our favorite part...they're only one whole dollar, we got three a piece! hee hee

[caption id="attachment_3393" align="aligncenter" width="150"] We sure did![/caption]

Even though they were quick errands, they were much needed. After everything we headed back over to Quartzsite, where we got some ice, popped into the dollar store and even ran across the street to scope out a Minnie Winne(bago). I loved the set-up inside and the fact that the kitchen is in the back of the rig instead of the middle. Yep...I'm full of one want today! haha

After viewing & dreaming we headed back over to camp...what a beautiful day!

When we got back to camp, I didn't really just want to sit around, I wanted to walk so that's exactly what we did. We walked the camp, saw the 'improvements' on some of the vans and even met some new friends. We even joined the group for the evening walk...Savannah was in Huntress Heaven! She ran herself silly!

[caption id="attachment_3403" align="aligncenter" width="300"] What a good-looking group![/caption]

[caption id="attachment_3404" align="aligncenter" width="150"] Don't forget me![/caption]

[caption id="attachment_3405" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Awww, just perfect![/caption]

And why stop at a perfect desert backdrop evening walk?? Our new friends, Ray (of Sunshine) and Zach invited us over to their musical campfire when it got dark.

[caption id="attachment_3408" align="alignright" width="150"] Play it Zach![/caption]

Ray plays the drums and he recently acquired a new drum that he is just totally in love with...and I don't blame him, it's fantastical! And Zach was playing his neon green recorder, that I'm naming Slimer! They wanted me to bring my Claramae but we just packed her back into her cubby hole since she hasn't gotten any play at the R.T.R! We all got a go at the awesome drum...it's super fun to play!

[caption id="attachment_3406" align="aligncenter" width="225"] Drum roll, please![/caption]

We chilled for a couple of hours, until it was too cold to stay out any longer. We had such a great time with our new friends, hopefully we'll get to spend more time together before everyone leaves.

From there we walked home and tended to our snuggle needs. The nights haven't really gotten any warmer, but they are also not getting colder...does that mean Winter is passing!? Geez, I sure hope so.

Sleep tight ya'll don't let the Nana Bug bite!

  1. Heya! Love your blog...thanks for it! I like the pictures, but they are really huge when you click on the thumbnails for the actual picture. Takes really long on crappy internet...anyway to make them smaller, like 800-1200 wide instead of 3-4000? They wont even show on my phone. Take what i can get tho ;)
